A SERIES of street surgeries is to take place in Huntingdonshire to provide residents with the chance to talk about Halloween, firework safety and vehicle crime.

The surgeries are being run by Huntingdonshire Community Safety Partnership as part of the Home Office 'Not in my Neighbourhood Week'.

The aim is to raise awareness of the work that is being carried out in areas across the district to tackle crime, keep communities safe and to empower local communities.

The street safe surgeries will be open to all to have their say on issues such as burglary, anti-social behaviour, fly tipping, criminal damage and alcohol and drug misuse.

They will be held on held on Wednesday, October 17, 2 to 6pm at the Oaktree Centre in Huntingdon, and on Saturday, October 20, from 10am to 3pm at the Community Information Centre in Ramsey.

The surgeries will be supported by the police, fire service, Huntingdonshire District Council's community safety team and Neighbourhood Watch.
