Somersham Carnival is on Saturday and at the centre of the procession will be carnival princess Jodie Cosbey, 12 and her attendants Hilary Sayer, 12 and Bethany Rimer, nine, right.
The events leading up to the big day have been going on all week, starting last Saturday and festivities include a quiz night and bingo night, a children's party and a country crafts competition, a car treasure hunt and a dog show which has a prize for the dog with the waggiest tail.
This year's theme is the ocean. The procession will set off through the village at 1.15pm with decorated floats, walkers, and vintage cars and returns to the playing fields in time for the baby show, fancy dress competition and tug-of-war in the arena.
There will be bouncy castles and various other attractions, along with refreshments including tea and cakes, a beer tent, and a scouts' barbecue. In the evening, there will be the Oceanic Groove Party, with live music from the band High Mileage.
