Highways England has released a list of roadworks and road closures planned for the week ahead.

M1 northbound junction 10, Pepperstock Interchange: technology maintenance

Work to maintain technology assets on the hard shoulder of the M1 northbound at junction 10, Pepperstock Interchange, starts Tuesday 13 November, lasting one day, with working hours of 9am to 4pm. During these works, the entry and exit slips will closed. A clearly signed diversion route will be in place.

M1 between junctions 10 and 13: vegetation clearance

Vegetation clearance works on the M1 between junctions 10 and 13 starts continues this week, on weeknights only, with working hours of 9am to 5pm. Single lane closures will be in place during these works.

M11 junction 7 both directions: cable replacement

Work to reinstate temporarily bypassed power and communications cables begins on Monday 12 November for two weeks. Lane one of both carriageways will be closed on the approaches and underneath junction 7 between 9pm and 5am. As a consequence of the works, the M11 junction 7 northbound slip road will be reduced to single lane running, also between 9pm and 5am. No diversions required.

M40 junctions 1 to 15: routine maintenance

Routine maintenance works include of slip roads and through junctions with two lanes. Works include sweeping, drainage cleaning, litter picking, vegetation cutting, white lining, street lighting maintenance, defect repair (including street lighting defects), inspection of the assets including structures and safety fence repair.

These works will continue until late November, over subsequent nights from 8pm, with planned re-opening times 7am on weeknights and 8am on weekends.

On Thursday 15 November there will be a closure of the Southbound exit slip at Junction 14 from diverge point with main carriageway to junction with A452. There is also a closure on the southbound entry slip at Junction 13 from junction with A452/B4100 to the merge point with the main carriageway.

Diversion:

Junction 14 exit slip road users will continue to travel southbound along the M40 and leave at Junction 12 exit slip. Turn left onto B4451 then left again to re-join the M40 northbound and travel northbound to leave at Junction 13 exit slip. Turn right onto the A452 and left at the first roundabout to return to Junction 14 Exit slip.

Junction 13 entry slip road users will travel north on the A452 and turn left at the first roundabout and left at the junction to join the M40 northbound at Junction 14. Travel north to on the M40 and leave at Junction 15 exit slip. Travel right around the roundabout to re-join the M40 southbound and travel back to Junction 13.

On Friday 16 November there will be a closure of the southbound exit and entry slips at Junction 5 from diverge point with main carriageway to junction with A40.

Diversion:

Exit slip road users will continue to travel southbound along the M40 and leave at Junction 4 exit slip. Travel right around the roundabout to re-join the M40 northbound. Travel northbound to leave at Junction 5 exit.

Entry slip road users will join the M40 northbound and travel north to leave the M40 at Junction 6 exit slip. Turn right and right again to re-join the M40 southbound and travel back to Junction 5.

A11 Fiveways roundabout Mildenhall: road sign, traffic light, traffic sensing loops, speed enforcement hard standings installation and safety improvements

Work to install road signs, traffic lights, traffic sensing loops, hard standings for mobile speed enforcement and re-lining of the roundabout is underway and due to complete around mid-November. Lane closures will be in place on the Fiveways roundabout rings between 8pm and 6am on weeknights until Thursday 15 November and no diversion or closure is required for this part of the works. There will also be a total closure of the Fiveways roundabout and its approaches on Friday 16 November between 8pm and 6am. A clearly signed northbound diversion for the A11 will be in place via the A14 and A134 before re-joining the A11 at Thetford. A clearly signed southbound diversion for the A11 will be in place via the Elveden Road, A134 and A14 before re-joining the A11 at junction 38.

A12 and A120, Essex: safety barrier repairs

An ongoing programme of work to repair damaged safety barriers along the A12 and A120 in various locations continues this week, with working hours of 8pm to 6am, weeknights only. Single lane closures will be in place past the area being worked on.

A12 junctions 28 to 27, Colchester: Motts Bridge refurbishment

Work to maintain road user safety continues this week. One lane of the junction 27 exit slip road will remain closed 24 hours a day.

A14 junctions 58 to 60, Felixstowe: road marking renewal

Work to improve road user safety by renewing the road markings begins this week. The eastbound carriageway will be fully closed between junctions 58 and 60 between 9pm and 5am from Monday for six consecutive nights. Road users will be diverted via A1156, Felixstowe Road, High Road, High Street and the A154.

A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire: major improvements

Construction work on the new A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon scheme is underway. We are currently carrying out a variety of tasks for which we need to close lanes or carriageways on the A1, A14 and some local roads at times, usually overnight between 8pm and 6am, unless otherwise stated. A clearly signed diversion route will always be in place for closures.

Monday 12 to Friday 16 (five nights)

A1 northbound between Buckden and Alconbury

Vehicles will travel east on the A428, north on the A1198, west on the A14 and then north on the A14 link road to re-join the A1

A1 southbound between Alconbury and Buckden

Vehicles will be diverted south on the A14 link road, then east on the A14, south on the A1198 and west on the A428 to re-join the A1

Buckden Road & Brampton Road

Monday 12 to Thursday 15 (four nights)

A428 eastbound Madingley to A14 eastbound junction 34

Motorway traffic will travel south on the M11, east on A505 and north on A11 to re-join the A14. Non motorway traffic will be diverted on local roads through Cambridge.

M11 junction 14 exit slip

A14 westbound between junctions 36 and 31

Motorway traffic will travel south on the A11, west on the A505 and then north on the M11.

Non motorway traffic will diverted on local roads through Cambridge

Friday 16 9pm to Sunday 18 6am

Conington Road

Saturday 17 2am to Monday 19 6am

A14 eastbound between junction 26 and junction 29

Strategic traffic will be diverted south on the A1198 at junction 24, then east on the A428 to re-join the A14.

Local access will be maintained between the strategic diversion and the hard closure

Vehicles will be diverted west on the A428 then north on the A1198 to re-join the A14 at Godmanchester
