A RIVER clean up in St Neots took place on Tuesday organised by Huntingdonshire District Council, St Neots Town council, the RiverCare Project, the Environment Agency, the Rowing Club and Canoe Club.
The project was to improve a stretch of the River Ouse which runs through St Neots town centre.
RiverCare representatives identified main areas where litter gathers and which would benefit from a clean up. Two teams of volunteers worked along the banks of the river, collecting litter trapped in the vegetation.
A boat and crew provided by the Environment Agency collected larger items dumped in the river, with members of the Rowing and Canoe clubs collecting refuse along the edges.
