AFTER 30 years in the Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, Huntingdonshire District Manager, Peter Sharpe is to retire. Mr Sharpe has worked over three decades in a variety of different roles. He started working as a firefighter at Stanground and Dogsthorpe stations in Peterborough and he then moved on to become station manager at St Neots and Huntingdon. In the years he has worked for the service he has also been head of audit and head of occupational health and safety before taking his current role as district manager. He said: "Having spent my entire 30-year service in Cambridgeshire I think that what I will miss the most is being part of a team of people who are committed to providing a first class service to the community of Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire. I will also miss the many colleagues and friends that I have made over the years.
