MR Fyfield of Owl Way (Letters, June 18) asked if "someone at the council could let him know which lunatics" had placed traffic calming measures in his street.
As his neighbours could inform him, hundreds of you signed a petition a few years ago, which I presented to council, requesting pedestrian safety measures for Owl Way and Eagle Way, in Hartford.
Now we finally are seeing the speed cushions etc constructed, residents know that rat-run drivers doing 40-50 mph or more are a thing of the past and our children are safer. Any considerate person would be delighted.
