RUBBISH and recycling collections in Huntingdonshire and South Cambridgeshire were suspended today for safety reasons.
Councillor Colin Hyams, the HDC cabinet member responsible, said it was judged too risky to send the freighters out on ungritted roads after the heavy overnight snowfall.
Huntingdonshire council officers were this morning working on plans to catch up with the missed collections.
South Cambs said today's collections would take place tomorrow (Friday), and residents should leave their bins and boxes out in the meantime.
