ROAD investigators have found the root of the problem that caused part of the Great Whyte in Ramsey to collapse for three days last week.
Engineers were rushed to the town’s main road on Tuesday night after the road suddenly collapsed.
After investigating the culverts running under the road, engineers found the sub-structure of the road had settled and compacted, causing the depression in the road surface.
The substructure was rebuilt and the road re-laid by Friday morning, a Cambridgeshire County Council spokesman said.
