A MEETING has been arranged to discuss a Huntingdon-based letting agency that ceased trading last week and is being investigated by Cambridgeshire Trading Standards.

Price Property Rentals Ltd trading as Price Properties of High Street, Huntingdon ceased trading on February 19.

A meeting to discuss the company is being held at the George Hotel in High Street, Huntingdon on Tuesday, March 9 at 3pm.

Liquidators have not been appointed. London-based chartered accountant and business advisory firm, MacIntyre Hudson said it had been "assisting" the company.

Cambridgeshire Trading Standards has launched an investigation into Price Properties following phone calls relating to the "operation" of the firm.

A spokesman for Trading Standards said: "We have launched an investigation due to the sheer number of people who have contacted us with regards to Price Properties."

The Hunts Post has also received a number of calls.

Trading Standards have said tenants should stop paying rent to Price Properties and cancel any direct debits. Instead the tenants were advised to contact their landlords directly regarding rents.

Trading Standards is also compiling a list of the Price Properties landlords and tenants and would urge any of them to phone Consumer Direct on 08454 040506.

A spokesman for Trading Standards said any landlord or tenant who is owed money by Price Properties can make a claim under the client money protection scheme of the , National Association of Estate Agents, for the attention of David Oliver, Arbon House, 6 Tournament Court, Edgehill Drive, Warwick, Warwickshire, CV34 6LG.

No one from Price Properties has been available for comment.
