A MEETING to discuss a Huntingdon-based letting agency that is being investigated by Cambridgeshire Trading Standards has been cancelled.

Price Property Rentals Ltd trading as Price Properties of High Street, Huntingdon ceased trading on February 19.

Liquidators have not been appointed but London-based chartered accountant and business advisory firm, MacIntyre Hudson is "assisting" the company.

A meeting to discuss the company had been arranged to take place at the George Hotel in High Street, Huntingdon on Tuesday, March 9 at 3pm.

But today (Wednesday) a spokesman for MacIntyre Hudson said the meeting had been cancelled. The firm refused to explain the reasons for the cancellation.

The spokesman said anyone wanting to find out more should phone Jaz Patel at MacIntyre Hudson on 0207 4294100.

Trading Standards launched an investigation into Price Properties following phone calls relating to the "operation" of the firm.

A spokesman for Trading Standards said: "We have launched an investigation due to the sheer number of people who have contacted us with regards to Price Properties."

The Hunts Post also received calls.

Trading Standards is compiling a list of Price Properties landlords and tenants and would urge any of them to phone Consumer Direct on 08454 040506.

A spokesman for Trading Standards said landlords and tenants of Price Properties can make a claim under the client money protection scheme of the National Association of Estate Agents by writing to David Oliver, NAEA, Arbon House, 6 Tournament Court, Edgehill Drive, Warwick, Warwickshire, CV34 6LG.
