YOU reported (January 25) "News that the Huntingdonshire Records Office will also move from its location in Grammar School Walk, near the Cromwell Museum, to purpose-built accommodation in the new library building will be welcomed by Huntingdonshire Local History Society".

Whilst in principle the news may be welcomed, the statement is somewhat premature. The detailed plans of the proposed building have not been made available and, until we have more than "concept ideas", we withhold our comments.

With reference to the library building, many members question the demolition decision and are surprised that the architects were not able to incorporate the existing main element into the new structure.
