I AM pleased to be able to reassure Mr Godsiff (Letters, January 18) that he appears effectively to have passed legal ownership of the car to his wife.
In the circumstances he describes, the law requires him to fulfil two criteria. First, he must intend to pass legal ownership to his wife, and secondly he must 'deliver' the gift to her (which means handing her the keys and the completed registration document).
