WRITE in response to Anne Bradshaw's letter of November 30.As a Spring Common protester, I realised there were many privileges enjoyed by Huntingdon Freemen we would never be able to stop. We were interested only in stopping the development of Spring Common for residential use.The trustees who acted on behalf of the Freemen would not listen to reason. The Freemen were not directly responsible for many acts made in their name and still enjoy many grazing benefits over local lands. The High Court action was not meant to destroy their heritage.JUNE CRUSE(Spring Common Campaigner)- Editor's note: Because of a backlog of letters over the Christmas and New Year period, we were unable to publish this letter before Mrs Cruse's death, which we reported last week.
