THE annual Poppy Appeal needs a volunteer Poppy Appeal organiser for Huntingdon.
It is also hoping to encourage businesses to create Poppy Windows, possibly with posters made by local schoolchildren.
Last year, Huntingdon raised over £11,000 to help fund a range of services including mobility equipment, adapted housing, welfare benefits advice, employment retraining as well as nursing and day care in the Royal British Legion's Poppy Homes.
Adele McAngus, community fundraiser, said: "This role involves making up the boxes and delivering them to around 90 shops, schools and businesses around Huntingdon and organising a rota for collections to take place at Tesco and Sainsbury's.
"It's a busy fun role and a great way of getting to know lots of people."
Help with counting is available and volunteers can also claim for expenses such as mileage (38p per mile), stamps and telephone calls.
