AN area of Huntingdon was cordoned off in the early hours of Friday morning (November 7) while police investigated a suspected sexual assault.

Officers were called just after midnight to the Hamlet Close and Buttsgrove Way area following reports of an alleged sexual assault.

Detectives cordoned off the area for investigations and the cordon had been lifted by 9am on Friday.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police said the investigation was ongoing and forensic officers were expected to remain at the scene throughout Friday.
