A QUICKTHINKING landlord from St Ives saved his pub from catching fire by pulling a burning wheelie bin away from his watering hole to stop a fire spreading.
The incident took place at 3am on June 4 outside the White Hart in Sheep Market.
The landlord pulled the burning bin away from the pub and doused the flames to stop the fire spreading.
Pc Paul Windass said: "It was lucky the fire did not spread and that no one was injured. This could easily have resulted in extensive damage to the property and serious injury or even death. I am keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing or hearing anything suspicious on the night of the fire."
