WORK has been completed at a Huntingdon family centre to improve access to its play area.
The play area at the back of the Buttsgrove Centre in Buttsgrove Way, Oxmoor, is used by mothers and children visiting the family centre based in the building.
Cambridgeshire County Council sanctioned work costing £14,500 to improve the facility. New fencing, drainage, ramps and handrails have been installed and the whole area has been resurfaced with tarmac and safety surfaces. New play equipment has also been installed.
Councillor Shona Johnstone said: "Over the years the area had been somewhat neglected and the surface had deteriorated badly. Now I'm delighted to say it is very much improved with proper access and some colourful play equipment that is already proving very popular with the youngsters who visit the centre.
