Toddlers will be riding their bikes, trikes and pedal cars in St Ives later this month to raise funds for a helpline for children.

Youngsters are being invited to take part in Pedal Push 2007 which is being held in the St Ives Toy Library at the Broad Leys Centre on Tuesday, April 24.

Starting at 9.30am pre-schoolers will be able to race round the hall with the aim of raising £500 for ChildLine.

Melissa Hookham, who is helping to organise the event and whose two-year-old son Luke is taking part, said: "It is not very often that youngsters are given the chance to raise money for other children while having fun."

It is also hoped the event will also raise awareness of the St Ives Toy Library which is dependent on donations and is struggling to keep up with rent and insurance payments.
