OLIVERS Night Club in Huntingdon, which is the subject of noise abatement proceedings, has closed for refurbishment.

The club, which shut on July 1, is also being taken to court by Huntingdonshire District Council over noise issues, but a council spokesman said that would have been no reason for the club to close.

David O'Brian owner of Oliver's, which opened two years ago, said the club had been closed for minor repairs and repainting.

He hoped it would open at the end of next month (August) with regular live band nights, including some top acts supported by local and young bands.

No dates have been set for the court case.
