HUNTINGDON’S town trail information has been refreshed and repackaged.
The leaflet is designed to lead residents and tourists around the town, uncovering 2,000 years of history.
The new, full colour design unfolds a tour which takes just over an hour to complete and includes details about who sculpted the war memorial ( considered one of the nation's top 100), locates the cell of the county and borough Gaol, and looks at the town's architecture.
The trail has written by a team of historians led by David Hufford while the cover was created by Sue Martin and Alan Akeroyd.
An audio town trail will be available later in the year.
Katy Sismore, of Huntingdon Town Partnership (one of the four organisations behind the trail - the others being Huntingdon Town Council, Huntingdon and Godmanchester Civic Society and the Cromwell Museum), said: “Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project, which is so important for tourists and residents and enables everyone to find out about Huntingdon's rich history.”
The leaflet, which is free is available at Huntingdon library, the Cromwell Museum, Huntingdon Town Council offices and other locations around the town.
