CCTV images have been released of a man police want to talk to in connection with a "nasty attack" on a woman in St Neots.

At about 4.10am on Sunday, October 12 a 23-year-old woman was assaulted outside her home in New Street, by a man who had knocked at her door.

She was hit over the head with an object causing head injuries. The offender made off on foot.

Police believe that the man in the image may have valuable information which may help the investigation.

DC Neil Hewson, who is investigating, said: "This was a nasty attack causing distress to the victim.

"I would like to speak to the person in the image as he may have seen or know something that could help us.

"I would appeal for this person to contact me, or if a member of the public thinks they know who this is, I would ask them to get in touch."
