I WISH to thank everyone who voted on May 4 in the Huntingdon East Ward district council election.

The result was not as I would have liked but, as a long-standing Huntingdon town councillor, I know you must expect to lose sometimes.

My opponents fought a very fair campaign and now, like many of the voters I, as a resident, await the improvements that were promised.

I would also like to thank David Monks, the returning officer, and his team without whom the polling stations would not be as efficient, thus making the day far less stressful for the candidates.

I would like to reassure the people of Huntingdon that even though I was unsuccessful I am still a town councillor and I will continue to try to solve as many problems as possible that are brought to my attention.
