I RECENTLY spent a most enjoyable day out at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge.

It has a wide array of displays from ancient Roman, Greek and Egyptian artefacts, potteries and glass, spanning many years and many different cultures. It also has a vast assortment of paintings in many different styles and from many different artists.

It is a wonderful place to visit. It has a well-stocked shop and a nice little café, and entrance to the museum is free.

So why is it not signposted anywhere in Cambridge? They have the Lion Yard signposted everywhere, but not one signpost could I or my family find to show us where the Fitzwilliam was to be found. If we had not looked it up on the internet before we left home we would not have found it. What a waste that would have been.
