Four people have been taken to hospital following a collision on the A14 near Huntingdon today (Friday).

Traffic was brought to a standstill on the eastbound carriageway between junction 22, at Brampton, and junction 23, the Spitalls interchange after a smash involving three cars and a motorcycle.

According to Highways England, the air ambulance was called to the scene and there was also a fuel spillage on the carriageway.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said that the incident took place at about 12.30pm and that four people were taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The road was re-opened to traffic at about 2.45pm, though delays continue in the area.
