SCHOOL pupils in Somersham had to be on the ball when their MP popped in for a game of pool last week.
Shailesh Vara, MP for North West Cambridgeshire, called in to Somersham Primary School to visit their thriving after school club.
The Kids Time Club is a club set up and managed by a committee of parents. It is a registered charity which is designed to provide a safe environment for children when they have finished school.
Professional staff attend to the children and the club is funded by a fee charged for each child who attends. The club operates on the grounds of Somersham Primary School although it is not affiliated.
Mr Vara said: "Kids Time Club is a fantastic initiative which only exists because of the dedication and community spirit of local people."
Fiona Shatwell, deputy manager of the Kids Time Club, said: "It's great to receive some recognition for the hard work put in by the staff and nice to see an MP getting involved in the community.
