ALL will agree the A14 is one of busiest roads in the UK. Peak-time use is likely to cost at least £1 per mile under road pricing proposals. To travel to work from Alconbury to the centre of Cambridge in rush hour will cost about £150 extra per week.

When asked how that additional charge is to be found by a low-paid worker, our local Conservative MP suggests that, as we have full employment in Cambridgeshire, they should get a job elsewhere. If that were possible, it would already have been done to avoid the daily commute.

Clearly, our MP is out of touch, and Conservative policy is as flawed as Labour's. Perhaps readers should vote UKIP and get some joined-up thinking.
