MOTORISTS who use the roads through Kings Ripton and Abbots Ripton are being urged to slow down as police carry out speed checks in the two villages.
The plea follows a number of complaints from residents about motorists speeding through the villages.
Action to catch those breaking the law is underway as officers carry out regular speed checks in the two areas, which both have a 30mph limit.
Pc Joel Finney said: "Speeding is completely unacceptable. It does not only risk the life of the person driving but also the lives of other road users. Our message is clear - slow down and adhere to the speed limit."
Anyone caught speeding will be issued with a fixed penalty notice, resulting in a £60 fine and three points on their licence. Serious cases may result in court action.
