A MAN has been taken to hospital with multiple injuries after the vehicle he was driving left the road and crashed in to a tree.

The single vehicle collision took place at 11.20am on Tuesday (March 30) on the B645 at Stonely.

It took firefighters more than an hour to free the trapped male driver who was then taken by ambulance to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.

Two Magpas doctors and a critical care paramedic attended the scene in the air ambulance.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said the patient, a male in his late 30s, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. His condition has been described as stable.
