With spring here and summer not far behind, expect to see a number of drop-top cars at the prestigious event. The most recent additions to the show include Dodge, McLaren, Lotus and TVR and they join a wide range of car brands designed to appeal to all pockets. Importantly, and unlike other motor shows, a selection of cars will be available to test drive with the facility to purchase the car after the test drive. An important feature of the new London Motor Show is the staging of outside displays, including safety demonstrations, one involving the latest road safety initiative, Stop the Crash. Principally this will feature Automated Emergency Braking (AEB), a significant lifesaving safety technology, and there are growing calls to make this standard on all cars, as was Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The shows organisers are joining the global support for this technology to become a standard feature. The London Motor Show has been designed to appeal to all the family and an exciting day out is promised. The Top Gear racing simulator for children and parents will be there, together with the very latest racing game Project CARS which involves using VR (Virtual Reality) headsets.
