DIANA Richardson is right (Letters, April 29). The extension of the 55 bus route to Huntingdon Station was not widely advertised in the local communities.
Nevertheless, it is a welcome improvement to the network. I shall certainly make use of it, and be glad that I won't have to trudge across the fields between the bus station and the railway station.
Another poorly advertised piece of bus information is the fact that, after the last 55 departure from Huntingdon Station (7.35pm), it is still possible to get a bus direct to St Ives using the 45 service starting from the train station at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm.
It would help if the 45 and 55 routes shared a joint timetable leaflet. Then prospective passengers could see at a glance the full service between Huntingdon station and St Ives.
But what if I want to return from London later than that? Could we have some later services please? Buses at 11pm Monday-Saturday and midnight on Saturday would connect nicely with late trains from Peterborough and London, as long as they would wait if the train was running late.
