SO St Ives Town Council will be selling the Corn Exchange (our sole town community centre) without planning consent and at a considerably reduced price so they can off-load it following their five years of inertia.
I deplore the decision taken by them "in camera". I wonder what the reactions will be to the sale from the Corn Exchange's neighbouring retail business owners.
In view of this outcome, is it not now time for a change in our local electoral system? I think married couples should not be able to stand as candidates to serve on the same council, as is the situation on the present St Ives Town Council.
