I WAS interested to read you article about the lack of planning applications for floating caravans at Hartford Marina.
I used regularly to visit the Mill House there with my family and spent many a pleasant summer Sunday afternoon in the gardens looking across the marina. However, on my recent visit, I was horrified to see the view was completely blocked by these caravans.
What a dreadful shame. It appears to an outsider that the owners of the marina have no regard for visitors .. I am sure I am not alone in wishing the marina to be restored to what it used to be - a pleasant environment with boats, narrow boats and lovely views.
It appears nowadays that to put a shed in one's garden needs planning permission. How is it that this obvious flouting of planning laws can be allowed with no apparent comeback?
