AN EARITH man will run the London Marathon to raise money for Magpas, the emergency medical charity for the county.

Martin Smith has strong links with the lifesaving charity as his mother, Jackie, is Earith's Community first responder group co-ordinator. Martin will be running in memory of his father, Tony, who died three years ago.

Jackie said: "We got involved with Magpas after Tony died of a heart attack at our home. There was not a first responder group in Earith then and, though I don't think anything more could have been done for him, it brought home the need for Magpas Groups."

Martin's brother, Adrian, and his wife, Louise are also both now community first responders in Hemingford. INFORMATION: To sponsor Mr Smith, email him at Martin@warriormonk.freeserve.co.uk
