A 24-year-old man was stabbed outside a row of shops in St Ives on Wednesday evening (January 30).
Cambridgeshire police said the attack happened just after 6pm outside the shops and takeaway in the Rainbow Centre, off Marley Road.
Officers said the man was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital In Huntingdon with serious but not life threatening injuries.
Part of the area was cordoned off until about 11pm.
A 22-year-old man from St Ives was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and was taken to Huntingdon police station.
Detective Inspector Ian Simmons, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time or anyone who believes they may know who is responsible."
