A MAN was repeatedly punched and kicked during an assault in St Neots.

Cambridgeshire police said the man had left his friends and was walking over the town bridge when he began talking to a group of people he didn't know.

Once over the bridge, as they began to walk their separate ways, the man was punched and fell to the ground.

He stood up but was punched to the ground again where he was then repeatedly punched and kicked.

The incident took place between 2.30am and 2.45am on Saturday, February 16 in Hanover Court, Eaton Socon.

Pc Neil English said: "I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of Hanover Court, or the town bridge, who can remember seeing a group of people.

"Perhaps you can remember hearing the incident take place?
