MORE than 30 girls from St Neots Sentinels Majorettes walked around Grafham Water to raise money for their troupe.

Parents and grandparents accompanied the girls on the 9.5 mile walk with participants ranging from the age of six to 66.

The group completed the course in a total of four hours and raised more than £500 for much-needed equipment and costumes.

The girls followed up their success with victory in a group display competition at the annual Wellingborough Carnival earlier this month. The troupe are busy preparing to compete in the 2007 majorette national finals.
