The prestigious Charter Mark award has been given to the Luminus Group in recognition of the high level of customer service provided by staff.
The Government-backed scheme is designed to help public sector organisations focus on, and improve, customer service and delivery.
Organisations must demonstrate six criteria which prove they focus on customers, aim to constantly improve and provide value for money.
Chan Abraham, group chief executive of Luminus Group, which provides and develops affordable homes, said: "This award is testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of all our staff in providing consistently high standards of customer care."
Charter Mark assessor Dick Broome said: "Throughout the organisation, there is a clear commitment to provide the very best service to tenants.
"By responding positively to the changing environment, Luminus Group has demonstrated it is a viable, socially responsible business which takes the needs of the local population into account.
