There are loads of families out walking every day of the week, with young toddlers.
Many mums and dads walk their children to and from the nursery and school which is fantastic. It is exercise for everyone, better for the environment and for our general well-being. Not to mention all the other people are out walking to Morrison's, into Cambourne, walking their dogs or just out for some fresh air.
There is no need for the speed limit to be higher. Nothing is so important that you need to race through the streets like a pretend racing car driver, which many do.
I walk with my very young family every day and see so many people driving way too fast through the streets of Cambourne. Everyone needs to remember how you would feel if you were the driver of the car that hit a child, person or animal on one of our Cambourne village roads.
It is not just the cars: it is lorries, vans and buses that are driving way too quickly along our roads.
I am sure most of us welcome the roads being handed over so that the police can have the power to do something about the speeding, as it's been going on for way too long now. It's just luck that no one has been seriously injured or killed as a result.
A safe crossing down near the school and nursery wouldn't go amiss, either. Most people are courteous enough to stop and let families cross. However there are still those who have forgotten that they were indeed a small child and their parents had the same challenges of getting them across the roads safely and usually with more than one child in tow.
