Lorry driver seriously injured in A14 crash

A LORRY driver suffered serious injuries when his vehicle left the A14 between Fenstanton and Swavesey and crashed into a ditch.
The collision took place at 7.30am on Saturday (December 12) on the westbound carriageway and involved two HGVs.
Firefighters used a nine metre ladder to bridge the ditch and then used specialist cutting equipment to release the driver from the cab.
The driver was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with suspected neck and back injuries.

PC Dave Osbourn from the roads policing unit, said: "This incident caused long delays on the A14 and the road was closed overnight between Saturday and Sunday for the vehicle to be recovered.
"I would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, as part of our investigations."
