MOTORISTS driving westbound on the A14 from Cambridge have endured long tailbacks after a lorry collided with the central reservation.

The incident occurred on the westbound carriagway of the A14 at Godmanchester at 11am and resulted in one lane of the carriageway closing to traffic.

Although the carriageway reopened at 12.30pm the disruption saw tailbacks reaching as far back as Cambridge throughout the afternoon.

The repair of the central reservation will see the A14 westbound close completely tonight from 11pm for two to three hours.
