ON April 9, I took part in a sponsored walk along with about 30 family and friends. The walk was about five miles from Brampton to Hinchingbrooke Park, around the park and back again. We were raising money to help me buy a Lightwriter with a voice facility.
Since I am deaf, unable to speak and, following a stroke, I am in a wheelchair and have limited use of my hands, the Lightwriter will greatly help my communication with those around me.
I would like to thank the many people who very kindly sponsored everyone who walked. Thanks, also, to everyone who joined me. We had a good time and, although we have not yet collected all the money, we are confident we will raise enough to purchase the Lightwriter.
In addition, thanks to the Card Gallery and Colemans, who also helped.
