MORNING commuters were stuck in lengthy tailbacks after a lorry engine caught fire and a van lost its trailer on the A14 at Godmanchester.
Police were called at 5.30am on Monday (August 24) after a trailer came loose from a van. Both lanes of the carriageway were closed while the trailer was recovered.
At 7.30am firefighters were called to a lorry on fire in a lay-by on the westbound carriageway at J24. This resulted in the closure of the exit slip road.
No one was injured.
