HUNDREDS of pounds worth of lead has been stolen from a building site in Huntingdon in the latest of a string of metal thefts across the district.
On this occasion thieves entered the site on Kings Ripton Road and stole lead from two windows.
The theft is being investigated as part of Operation Saruman, a drive launched by Cambridgeshire police last month to tackle the recent rise in metal thefts.
It is estimated metal thefts cost Cambridgeshire £6million each year.
