LAST week's story about possible sightings of a 'Fen Tiger' - a large wild cat - has already prompted one reader to come forward.
The article reported how there have already been five sightings of large cats reported to police this year, with the majority in the area west of the A1, near Sawtry.
Kevin Sadler, of Eynesbury, contacted The Hunts Post to say he spotted a large feline while visiting Stilton Golf Course three months ago.
He said: "I looked out over the course and saw a black panther-like cat about 300 yards away. It was definitely larger than a normal cat, about the size of a Labrador.
"I went home to my girlfriend and told her about it but I didn't really think about it again until I saw the article in The Hunts Post.
"I haven't played a round of golf there yet but I won't let it put me off."
Reports of the mysterious feline have prompted Cambridgeshire policeman Pc Paul Carter to map big cat sightings in the county.
He said: "I have been plotting the sightings on a map and monitoring the activity - it would be wonderful to prove or disprove their existence in Cambridgeshire once and for all."
