Cambridgeshire County Council is warning motorists of daytime lane closures to allow work on a new shared cycleway and footpath to be completed.
Work on Houghton Road, in St Ives, is due to start on Monday, September 18, and is expected to continue for 10 weeks.
The council says that work will require daytime lane closures between High Leys and Ramsey Road in order to allow contractors to access the site.
A spokesman for the county council said: “The proposed work is to widen the footway and make it a shared use cycleway/footway. To ensure the safety of our contractor and the general public, work will be carried out under lane closures and temporary traffic lights from Monday to Friday, off peak between 9.30am and 3.30pm.”
The spokesman added that access to homes and properties within the lane closures will be maintained during the course of the work.
