HAVING watched the old row of cottages on Main Street, Hartford, fall into disrepair and then be knocked down (I thought they had a preservation order), it is with great sadness that I noticed another Huntingdon piece of history has been removed – the old town militia barracks.

Is nothing sacred in this town any more? They keep talking about the court house in the market square. Why not carry on the present attitude and knock that down too. Then we can have an even bigger square with nothing in it.
