I WONDER if the council will ever apply common sense when considering the use of the Riverside car park.

I cannot be the only Huntingdon worker who is having trouble finding a parking space since the fair has come to town. Might it not have made more sense for the fair to be sited elsewhere? Or, alternatively, perhaps it could have been set up during the school holidays when the traffic was considerably lighter.

In future, perhaps the council could consider using the Riverside car park area to operate a park-and-ride system, with passengers being collected from there and dropped off at various points around the ring road, thereby greatly reducing the problem of gridlock currently being experienced each morning and evening.

These are only a few suggestions that might go some way towards easing the traffic and parking problems in Huntingdon, which are clearly becoming worse. As the council seems to have run completely out of sensible ideas, perhaps we members of the public could come up with something that might work?
