FORMER deputy prime minister, John Prescott, has been mocked after he was quoted saying nothing good came out of Norfolk since Oliver Cromwell.
He has also met criticism for slamming Norfolk and saying he did not wish to live in the 'bloody' county.
The Labour heavyweight was reported by the Evening Standard in its Londoner's Diary column to be looking at a 2.85m Coast House in Blakeney.
But the former deputy PM denied it, and according to the paper rang to complain from his home in Hull.
He is reported to have said: "Why would I want to go and live in bl**dy Norfolk for God's sake?
"Nothing good ever came out of bl**dy Norfolk since Oliver Cromwell."
In fact, Cromwell came from Huntingdon and it is believed Mr Prescott actually meant to refer to Lord Nelson.
