SELLING St Ives Corn Exchange would be a totally wrong decision. The Corn Exchange is part of our heritage and something that we can pass on to future generations.
St Ives needs an affordable facility for the community that isn't part of a commercial, profit-making operation. In the past, it was used very successfully for a variety of activities and events, such as indoor market on a Monday, WI market on a Friday and Jazzasize classes.
We are often being told of how the town council is trying to reinvent and rejuvenate St Ives. However, it seems that as soon as there is an opportunity to do something positive they do not rise to the challenge. It takes only a little imagination and determination to give the people of St Ives a community facility that would become a valuable asset to our thriving town.
