I FIND it amazing that Luminus is planning on tearing down the Old Barracks (The Hunts Post, April 16). Is nothing sacred in Huntingdon anymore? It is a point of interest and part of our history and heritage. Why can't it be left as it is? Who runs this town, Luminus or HDC? The Victorian hospital on Primrose Lane will be torn down soon as well.

Also, in this day and age when smoking is prohibited in all public places, why do I keep seeing Huntingdon and District bus drivers puffing away on cigarettes behind the wheel?

Only the other day near Hinchingbrooke School, as one of them was driving, he was using both hands to light his cigarette. I suppose the only consolation is that, as usual, no one was actually on the bus
